1. Purpose
Recharge Homes Pty Ltd ("Recharge Homes") is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all employees, contractors, customers, and the public during the installation and maintenance of solar and battery systems. This policy outlines the safety standards and practices we follow to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental harm.

2. Scope
This policy applies to all installation and maintenance activities performed by Recharge Homes’ employees and contractors, including work at customer sites, warehouses, and other relevant locations.

3. Legal Compliance
Recharge Homes complies with all relevant workplace health and safety legislation, including but not limited to:
• Work Health and Safety Act (WHS Act)
• Electrical Safety Acts and Regulations in relevant states/territories
• Australian Standards such as AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and AS/NZS 5033 (PV arrays)
• Other applicable local and federal regulations

4. Safety Responsibilities
• Management: Provide safe systems of work, adequate training, supervision, and resources to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Supervisors: Monitor work practices, conduct risk assessments, and ensure employees and contractors follow safety procedures.
• Employees and Contractors: Follow all safety instructions, use personal protective equipment (PPE), report hazards or incidents immediately, and participate in safety training.

5. Risk Management
• Conduct risk assessments before all installation and maintenance tasks to identify hazards and implement appropriate controls.
• Use safe work method statements (SWMS) and job safety analyses (JSA) where applicable.
• Implement controls such as PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, fall protection, and electrical safety measures.

6. Training and Competency
• Ensure all installers and maintenance personnel hold appropriate licenses, certifications, and training relevant to solar and battery systems.
• Provide regular safety training, including updates on new standards, technologies, and company policies.
• Maintain records of all training and competency assessments.

7. Equipment and Tools
• Use only approved, well-maintained tools and equipment for all installation and maintenance activities.
• Inspect equipment regularly and remove defective tools from service immediately.
• Store tools and equipment safely to prevent accidents.

8. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Require the use of appropriate PPE such as safety helmets, gloves, eye protection, high-visibility clothing, and electrical-rated footwear.
• Provide PPE to all personnel and ensure correct usage at all times during work.

9. Incident Reporting and Investigation
• All incidents, near misses, and hazards must be reported immediately to supervisors.
• Conduct prompt investigations to determine causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain records of all incidents and investigations.

10. Emergency Procedures
• Establish clear emergency response plans for fire, electrical hazards, falls, and other potential incidents.
• Ensure all personnel are trained in emergency procedures and first aid.
• Maintain access to emergency equipment and communication devices on all job sites.

11. Continuous Improvement
• Regularly review safety practices and policies based on incident reports, feedback, and regulatory changes.
• Encourage a safety culture where all employees and contractors actively contribute to improving workplace safety.

12. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed at least annually or following any significant incident or regulatory change to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness
